Frangipani, Malaysia

11 february 2011 / lifestyle / malaysia

There used to be a frangipani tree in front of this restaurant and bar; hence the name. The art deco façade leads you to the understated-styled dining area that serves fine French style cooking, like soft shell crab with bouillabaisse sauce and pan seared foie gras.

Upstairs, chocolate brown and toffee-colored leather, metallic pillars and DJ beats transform the vibe into a stylish New York one. Frangipani has just opened Bibitus, its new shop and bar that offers a wide range of biodynamic French wines from small producers. The modern and sophisticated interior was done by Zaini Zainul of ZDR and updated by Brian Quirk from Q&A.
